I've heard people have done this. What does it do? Won't it draw warm air from the engine. Just wondering

It makes it louder, not really any gains in power though.

oh ok cheers mate. imagine it would bog it down slightly like an open cone?

Not at all. I have a open cone as do a lot of people and i can definetly say it hasn't "bogged" at all, infact seems to rev more freely tbh

ATspeed actually reccomended the K&N 57i, said it's a Ok kit despite what people say.

fair enough mate. the 57i has a cold air feed dont it. is that what you've got?

Nope, the 57i doesn't come with a feed, but you can add your own quite easily.

However i think the best kit available for sub £200 is the K&N Gen2 :)

ive drilled my box with an uprated panel filter in there too, and i also have a de-cat.
i wouldnt say there is an overall performance difference, but youcan hear that its wanting to change its sound!

its more, happy to rev in the lower ranges, but thats only because it can breath that bit better and has a quicker flow to escape too!
its all good forcing more air in there, but if it has no where to come out the other side, its like driving into a brick wall imo.
... but as i gots it all for free, it wouldnt be something worth paying out for, as its not THAT noticable. i drive atleast 20 different cars a day, so you tend to notice the smaller things like that.

but remeber i only have a 1.1 . . . so im not ging to get anything epic out of it anywho!

Induction kit don't make much of a difference no matter what you buy, if you want one get the Gen2 there £180 iirc, look AWSOME, sound AWSOME and do give a little power gain :)

yeah i'm not really looking for power gain but just like the induction 'roar' lol. just don't wanna lose power or bog it down in low revs as a result

really? so where exactly would you drill the saxo airbox (circular)? obviously before the filter?

dunno but as for corsa alot of people recommend it which is why i did instead of induction kit

Drilled airbox, neon washer jets, 6" backbox and go faster stripes usually give around an extra 30bhp im told!!

DO NOT drill the saxo airbox.

Can be done on other cars. Not the saxo. It's the wrong side of the filter.

yeah thought so coz the middle part of the box is filtered air. so would just let dirt in. thats why i was confused
