Hello all,

I'm new on here, but been active on ssc for about a year!
I need some help with regards to a conversion I'm currently doing, which i've been posting about on SSC but thought I'd try my luck on here cause you guys get alot more traffic!

I'm putting a 106 GTi lump into a furio and am at the point where I need to sort out the looms.

I have sorted the furio loom out and identified the wires from the multiplugand matched them to the GTi loom.

The problem is that i have a few wires on the GTi loom that I dont know the purpose of!

The first is a green and yellow wire that comes from the multi plug and joins into a load of other green and yellow wires close to the ECU plug.

The second is a red wire that goes from the multiplug to the alternator.

Then there is a seperate grey multiplug on the GTi loom that isnt on the furio:
-1 yellow wire going to a plug at the back of the block
-Pair of wires going to a green plug at the front of the block close to the alterator

If anyone can tell me what to do with these I will actually drive to your house and kiss you!

I'll get some photos up when I get my phone back then.

The loom is the one that came with the engine.

Cheers

Yellow wire at the back of the block will be oil pressure or oil temp, which ever the 16v has that the furio dosent i think...

Ahh cheers! That helps a lot.

Doesn't show that green/yellow lead though. Might it be an earth that I could just attach it to the gearbox?

Guys on the Rallyereg seem to say that you dont need the oil temp/level wires for it to run.

ok but if they are only for lights on the dash, surely that wont matter?

Got the engine in today was piss easy with a crane but getting the two hoses on behind the inlet mani were a ballache!

Couldn't start it up for a few reasons:
1. It hasn't got any oil
2. The rad isn't plumbed in
3. I forgot my keys. (tw@t)

Still got a few wires which I cant figure out.

Wire 1:
The furio loom had a wire going to the crank sensor to the multiplug but the GTi loom doesn't, I'm tempted to just patch this into the existing crank sensor wiring on the wire that doesn't go back to the ECU.

Wire 2:
Green/yellow (earth) wire that goes back to a bunch of other same coloured wires.

Wire 3:
Red wire that goes to the alternator.
