got my new vts the other week, it still has the standard exhaust system. I'm going to de cat it, but i'm looking for a backbox thats not to loud until i put my foot down? recommendations much appreciated. Luke.

piper are good mate, a direct fit onto your centre section.

ive got full straight through magnex system,and 4-2-1 mani,sounds spot on.......

I've got a de-catted Magnex system and Raceland manifold and it's not too loud :)

ive got a standard manifold, decat pipe, and a magnex cat back its only load when you put your foot down or are doing high revs!

This. It has a nice low bassy growl and it's very stealthy. Enjoyable when you do long miles, you don't get tired from the noise and you can hear your music.

I've got a Magnex catback on an otherwise standard Mk2 VTR and it's barely louder than standard, but still makes good power on the rollers.

i have heard that sportex ones are really loud, although not heard one in person. i would seriously recommend looking at piper mate, the fit and build quality is awesome and the sound is great. It gives a deep note at low revs to a slight raspy note when you gun it. also you only really hear it when you are accelerating meaning if you are just cruising at motorway speeds you dont get a horrible droning noise

Sportex are very good from my experiences :)
sportex mani's are good for slowing down gas flow they are so rough inside... look at a janspeed mani, smooth,, no steps or gob's of weld at the head and you dont have to file the holes out to fit to the stud's...
