Orite Does anyone know where you can get a cam for a 1.1 2002 saxo?
asin do you know if kent or tht do them?
also does anyone know where i could get my hands on a set of forged pistons for it?

Hi compression or low compression? I think you'll need to get the pistons made up tbh. Without looking at the oem piston widths and stoke between the 1.6 engines and the 1.1 engines, and the various bottom end measurements it's hard to say initially tbh.
Do you need to keep the engine a 1.1 due to any rallying regs or something?
As it might be beneficial to go for at least a 1.6 8v or a 16v to have a higher power base to start from (100bhp or 120bhp) ?

Is it for a 1.1 ?
What manufacturer made it?
Thinking about it - if you gave Newmans your standard cam, and gave them the spec of camshaft you required I'm sure they could grind you one from a blank

As raunchz said you need to give use a little more information. If its a rally / race car you can swap it over to solid rockers and run just about any cam profile you like. GMC can probably sort you out some pistons and the cam.

In the past i Got cot with a vts engine in my old vtr and got shafted for it n there are rakes of police in perth scotland, so tryna keep the bottom end engine numbers and just do the internals,
Waht do you mean solid rockers?
anyone any ideas of internal swaps that you can do? apart from skimin the head or tht?

without spending big money then a 1.1 will still be quite slow
still like your talking you'll be struggeling with the crank and the rods ect taking punishment aswell as the inlet heavily restricting what cam profile ect you can run if you want it to look standard for the arm of the law and undeclaired
(I annoy condoning this behaviour and tbh I think the reason you now have a 1.1 is quite clear)
IMO forget trying to tune a 1.1
I looked into it ages back and in the end a conversion is cheaper and more reliable
Simple fact is the 1.1 was never designed to be tuned past breathing mods
the vtr lump and the 16v were developed with racing/rallying in mind so tuning was a bit more thought through

Just leave the 1.1 standard, enjoy saving some money and but a vts in a year or twos time

How is "skimmin" the head an internal swap?
You wont make a 1.1 fast at all. Just leave it alone, also why do you want forged pistons? Was it a random word that popped into your mind?

If you want it to look std --then what you want is a 1294cc engine they rev too the moon and give as much power as a vts with small mods =correct engine mapping.
our old ax sport race engine was 157bhp--but you need t/bodies and loads of work to get

I looked all over and I had to get a Cam made up, And same for the pistons mate they don't make 1.1 pistons becuase no one really wants 1.1 forged pistons and cams lol. I had the same problem.

asin internal swaps, and not wanting info on tuning the motor?
thought that was prety clear lol

Sorry, I assumed you wanted to tune it hence wanting forged pistons

Surely altering the engine in any way to increase power constitutes as tuning?
Wasting your money 'tuning' a 1.1 personally. Drop a VTR/ VTS engine in.
To answer your original question though... assuming your car is a 2002 model, any aftermarket 8V camshaft will fit providing it's for a silver top engine with roller rockers. Obviously, with wilder cams aimed at competition use, you will have to account for valve/ piston clearance.

he probs cant just drop in a vtr/vts in because he said the scum shafted him for having something under the bonnet he shouldnt have thats why he wants hidden internal mods ken. wink wink nudge nudge lol. theres a bit of that going on where im from lol. for some reason it seems quite easy to hide a 2.0litre 8v in a mk3 astra. lol
emm your never going to get crazy power from the 1.1 but you could lighten the flywheel and crank shaft to make it quicker revving.

Oh god... is that not tuning then? Also what do you expect to happen if you change the internals? And what do you think you can swap the internals with?

Not that I condone this sort of thing, but a 1.1 and VTR lump look very similar.

thec1294cc sport engine is externally identical to a 1.1 --same block ,just dif crank ,liners and pistons -head has larger valves but looks identical to all but the very well imformed

tryna keep the bottom end engine numbers
That wouldnt work
