Depends on how much cash you want to drop, but I'd expect about 160-ish bhp.

well the car that im buying is a vts sanremo an its 160 bhp tuned from lad motor sport an there is only 10 of them ever done.so was just wondering what sort of stuf i could do to it to take it to around 200 bhp.
just to help its got induction kit, bigger exhust ports, better valves, camed up.
if i was to put a 4-2-1 on it an a de cat what would it take it to then roughtly.

how big is your wallet will lead directly to most power smileys/smiley17.gif
As for max power in either vtr or vts is very hard to say as there are very different ways that power is required and made. I dont think anyone has as yet just went totally balls out on N/A for absolute max power

what cams are you using? is it remapped or dastek etc
change the manifold and decat but couldnt tell you exact figues. 5-8 maybe
next step is throttle boddies, standalone then mapped prob about 3 grand and that wouldnt even be near 200 brake

oh dear LAD conversion!!!!, ive asked this before about LAD they talk shit, i think if you do a search on here you will find the topic, its all bad news. and they cant prove there figures.....i want one of there conversion a while back then i saw the light!!! lol

squeeler theres no reason that his will not be near 160 brake. its lads quotes of 160 with headwork alone your thinking of.
Dan
19th March 2006, 19:52
It wont be anywhere near 160 if LAD have been near it.

right will read up on it now and have look. the car does 0-60 in about 6 seconds cause when i went for a test drive we raced a lotus elise an stayed side by side and there booked at 5.9 secs. would it have to be 160 bhp to keep up with the eliseor could it be 140bhp an still keep up with it
thanks

GOD DAM LAD!!!!but i think your right, when i asked them to produce some hardcore facts, it all went quite!!! smileys/smiley5.gif

0-60 in 6 seconds, seems a bit fast!
thought that turbos did it in mid 5's
could be wrong
plus i would of thought a elise would kill a vts unless it kicking out some serious power, and that would need some forced induction
Dan

Wont do 0-60 in 6 seconds even if it did have 160bhp. smileys/smiley2.gif

0-60 in 6 is very fast, most supercharged or turbo cars average about 6.2/6.5 to 60 due to traction (you will never get a uber fast front wheel drive) although there was a TB corsa that did 0-60 in 4.93 or something like that but that was a massive spec and well more than 160 more like 260. And whats the point in having loads of bhp on a n/a car? it means its got a good top end but could have ferk all acceleration, go for torque or some wild cams and rev the fook out of it.

20th March 2006, 13:31
how do you go about getting torque though rather than just bhp?

saxodaffy

if you want serious power n/a ud have to do a lot of head work high comkpresson pistons a full on throtle bodie conversion then if uwas goin for a wild cam u would have to have the bottm end lightened an balanced then all strenthened bolts ur talkin thousands m8

i work at westfield sportscars an weve got a 1.6 16valve model thats runnin at 155bhp with a k&n exhaust an piper cams so i would imagin that it would be easy enough to gain bout the same as that with the money u have
