i have rush between the joining sleeves but want to take the backbox off how can i do it without damaging it?

tap the sleeved part gently with a hammer on the side of the pipe, that usually knocks any rust out thats holding the inner piece in,then spray wd40 on it,repeat several times,try twisting the back box while a mate holds the front piece, failing that,warm the outer piece up with a blow torch to expand it, after that just thrash the bastard into submission and hope it doesn't fall apart

a nylon hammer can help along with a dose of heat

cheers guys the standard exhaust is normally just clamped isnt it? i can see there is a clamp on it

normally a saxo exhaust has a clamp and an "olive" type fixing at the back box rather then a sleeve though some non-OE and performance exhausts are sleeve fit

ok so is it a case of taking the old back box off being the standard one and then the performance one should fit in the sleeve yeh
