i need a standard cam to send off for a re-grind for my 1.6, so im going to get one from the scrappy from a 1.1, anyone see an issues from doing this?

then i thought why not just get the full head, take it apart, send it off to get valve seats done, P+P at same time then refit re-ground cam, adjust to suit and swap it with my standard VTR head?

so i need to know if all stripped down silvertop 8v heads are the same?

thanks pete.

No there not all the same.

elaborate on that?

i know blacktops are different from silvertops i want to know if the early silvertops are the same casting throughout the 1.1/1.4/1.6 8v engine, just different springs etc?

silvertops have different port spacing, bores, valve springs etc

just get a head that matches your engine either blacktop, 90bhp silvertop or 98bhp silvertop

All silver top cams are interchangeable - the 98bhp cam isn't any different. :)
