engine light/flashing engine light

i know the yellow engine light is check engine, but is the flashing yellow engine light the same meaning a red engine light???? :oops::wacko:

The way the CEL usually works is:

Illuminated light - Fault code detected at some point, recently present
Flashing light - Fault code detected and currently present.

Generally I'd say if its flashing then it's going to be in a 'limp' mode. Thats based on experience with most marques, not specifically citroen.
