just added a piperx induction kit and when i was on motorway to day my engine temp went up as quick as my speedo. has anybody had the same.

all the way had to back off a bit. put heating on to keep cool. it went down with easy accelerating

on my bros car it is connected to the induction kit pipe coming from the throttle bodie

there are 2 breathers on the pipe. do u think theres not enough cold air feed and its takin all the heat in off the engine

the temp sensor is on the right side of the cylinder head when your in front of the engine looking at it. it the blue one mate.(if its a mk1 saxo) if its a mk2 then its on the right hand side again but just to the right of the rocker near the top hose also blue.
cant see why a filter should make your water temp high mate.

i drove from wolverhampton 2 sutton colfield and on the way back the temp was rising with acceleration

u think it could be cold air feed

just bin out.only up the road and the temp soared up again and the fan DIDNT kick in

i think it could be your thermostat in the cylinder head. this should open at 89 degrees if i remeber correctly. all you have to do to test it is remove the top hose and its the two ten mill bolts where the hose connects the to the head. undo the bolts and pull the connecting metal pipe of and it will fall out. boil the kettle stick a thermometa (sp) in the water and see when it opens. the fan could be a fuse. or you may just have a faulty water temp sensor. or you could have air in your water system

found out its my fan switch. will get one this week
