i was just wondering if it is worth re-mapping or chipping a car if its no turbo cause been told from a garage not to bother cause it will make the car drive like crap for no real advantage

'chipping' does nothing, and no real need to remap unless you have fitted an aftermarket cam.

yes. youll be remapping the ecu to work with the mods youve put on just like the existing ecu thats runs now

well ive called a few companies up about remapping mine and they are around the 400-500 quid mark soo pricey but u get some good gains dependin on your current mods, if ya jst gonna uprate the cam with no other mods with a remap ul possibly gain 10bhp

will be around 500 mark.i.e jamsport. well worth it, just aslong as youve done all the engine mods you wanna do or itll cost again.

i dont know how the garage has come up with that answer.

most things have been done to the engine all thats left is to put a 4-2-1 manifold on then will get it re mapped if it makes a difference

sorry mate but when i wrote that i meant with it cammed aswell.
personally and like sean said i wouldnt remap unless you have uprated cams aswell, which for an extra 350 say cat cams you might aswell

theres not much difference between them. catcams 708s being cheaper and producing slightly less torque but a great buy.
are 100% sure youve got a diferent cam in now. whats the idling like

saxodaffy
28th March 2006, 04:18
the idling is up and down will run at about 1000 then go up to 1100 then go down again.i take it theres no really way of tellin what cams are in it until someone takes them out

bullit

yeah unless you can contact the previous owner, didnt he tell you. mapping will improve the idling aswell.
well its an excuse to get the head done while your at it. lol

saxodaffy
