Didnt want to start a new thread so fort id post in this old one!
Has any one acctually got a pic of what these "seals" look like on a vts rockercover cos i took mine off as it had a slight leak and all i found was a mess of orange instant gasget.
So i scraped this off and cleaned up both surfaces and put a bead of new instant gasget all around the rocker cover. re-fitted both covers ran the car a few hours later and its slashing out! so i removed the covers again and it looked like a lot of the gasget hadnt even touched the other surface and all bolts were correctly torqued.
I also cannot see that a seal could have origionaly been used as there is no cut out or anything where it would sit?
I tried a couple of places for a new gasget and none list one for a vts or a 106 gti. Could try agen but absolutley plaster the rocker covers with instant gasget but would rather not bodge it if there is an alternative. Has any one made up there own gasget using gasget paper?

you need to use instant gaskette, layer it high and wait to set (24hours) before fitting as it makes it a rubber sorta gaskette then as if your trying to instant gaskette it when the gaskette is not dry it will jsut push the oil out when u start as the two serfaces are not touching, the only place they touch are where the bolt holes are as they are recessed down a little

Yea could try that seems like a lot of time to wait mite blast it with a hair dryer because i cant see garages using the same tecnique. Such a shitty design something so simple turns in to a big ol bodge.

All sorted now just plastered it in instant gasget.
Has no one fort of or acctually done this.... Grinded the bits flat that stick out where the bolts are and made a paper gasget up? would make it a much neater job. Not really sure why citroen have made it the way they have seems stupid to me.
