Weird Oil temp - with video!

Right,

My Gti is being very strange at the moment!

Once it's upto temperature my water sits at half way, BUT my oil temp plays up! Most cruising speeds it sits on the highest white level, and in traffic sometimes it will creep above. BUT(again) when i put my foot down it drops and raises when i lift off! Its not as if its cooling, it seems more like a pressure?

Possibly a faulty temp sender? Doesn't seem too bad though. I only use mine as an indication that the oil is up to temp. :p

hmmm, could be, where are they located?

in traffic this morning it touched the red briefly? Could this be bad if it went on the red?

The temperature of the oil can't increase 20 odd degrees in less than a second! I'd be looking at a new oil temp sensor as my first port of call.

mine seems to do this but mine makes the engine light flash so i reckon mine might be a temp sensor if it is where are is it located?

I think im going to replace the oil temp sensor, is there anywhere apart from direct dealers to get them?
