im going to be fitting a vtr engine today, does anyone know if i can fit it from underneath with the gearbox still in or if the gearbox has to come out? thanks

you could leave the gearbox in if you want and pull the engine out the top or bottom. Would be a pain to get the engine off the input shaft mind. For the sake of a couple bolts just take the gearbox off

i managed to get mine in from the top mate, bit of a arse when youve left the gearbox in the shell, if you do it this way you will need to tilt the engine around quite a bit and near to remove the second crank pulley for the alternator :) good luck.

just got it bolted in, i havent got a engine jack to crane it in, i ended up droping the gearbox out bolting it up to the engine and then put it in from the underneath and jackin it up.
