The year also plays a part as some have different connectors

as said above, the 3 plug ones have different connections.

im currently using a 1998 vts alternator on my vtr.

Think there was like 9 listed when i wanted one for my VTS.

if its got power steering then you need an 80amp one,you can convert connectors --older type are better --new type ones small connector falls off
