does the bottom 1 go on the starter motor where it is mounted on or on the back where the wires go?

On the back.

On the back of the starter motor you have 1 8mm and 1 13mm ring terminal coming from the engine loom.

Attach the bottom wire onto the starter with the 13mm ring terminal
