difference for a 4-2-1 and a 4-1 manifold??

okay instead of stateing the obvious one has a 4 brance into a 2 into a 1 and the other 4 straight to one.... whats the difference in these much performance difference noise difference etc whaTS THE BETTER OPTION ETC... ANY HELPO CHEERS

The 4-2-1 will give better mid range, the 4-1 will give better top range. simples

Not sure you will notice a massive difference between either on a road car. The theory is that a 4-2-1 creates a better mid-range but with the crap standard manifolds theres usually an all round improvement with both designs.

If you have a mark 2 VTR, then the cheapest and easiest option would be to buy a raceland 4-1 mani. As you wont have to relocate the oil filter.

Or you could get the new Sportex 4-2-1 dont need to relocate oil filter eitha :D

Id say either get: Raceland 4-1, Sportex 4-2-1 or Superpsrint 4-2-1. They can all be fitted without re-locating the oil filter. They all have their good and bad points aswell. The raceland is Cheap, stainless steel and good quality however, its a 4-1 and on a vtr id sway more towards a 4-2-1. The Sportex is cheaper still BUT it is mild steel and can sometimes have dodgey weldings. The Supersprint is an awsome fitment, excellent quality, stanless steel and a 4-2-1. The only bad point is the price; but then again you get what you pay for..

ive seen those sportex ones like on ebay n look good for cash but then the 4-1 raceland sounds sweet aswell! i dont ana be payin the cash for the super sprint so what would be est option 4-1 raceland ss or 4 2 1 sportex ms

I'd suggest the raceland because it's stainless steel and better quality than the sportex. Like kam said, u won't really notice the difference between a 4-1 and a 4-2-1 with road use so I wudnt worry about that.
