i had no idea when anything was done on my car such as cambelt and things
my car is on 104,000 i am changing cam belt, water pump, thermostat and head gasket
my car did not suffer from any over heating problems or anything like this before i removed the head
should i get it skimmed?

You'd might as well mate! If it is not seated 100% squarely then you'll be having it apart again.. think its a bit of a silly idea doing the HG when it hasn't gone though mate.
Id definitely say yes to the skim though, seeing as the head will be off and for ultimate peace of mind :)

do you have any idea as to how much it may cost?
i removed it because the car was misfiring and i was told it was a burnt valve, removed the head and then found out that it was caused by a dodgy injector

yes it dpends how stripped down it is.
If you take in a bare head it will cost alot less to do than one that they have to spend time stripping and rebuilding
