well been in the car today and everything was fine then earlier got a really bad noise from the front drivers side of the car that sounds just like driving on a flat wheel.
So got out and checked and its fine but the noise is really bad.
Hope this makes sense and anyone knows any info on this.
Thanks guys

is it like a tap tap tap tap noise on every rotation of the wheel?

if so check your wheels nuts!! they might be loose!

my friends did this ages ago i think it was a wheel beraring

yes think you might be right mate.
had it in garage 2 days ago to get one of the wheel bearing repaced and the link arm but just dropped car back at garage now and he said with what ive described to him he thinks it could be the other wheel bearing.

just picked the car up from garage and it was the wheel bearing, even tho i had another one fitted 2 days ago.
all sorted now just strange how it only lasted 2 days.

Sounds like wrong profile wheel bearing was fitted - taper vs non-taper.

pisssed off now, had car back from garage 3 hours and the same problems occured.
something is causing the wheel bearings to nacker.

Agreed on that

Agreed on that

whats the difference in them both and how do you find out mate.

one is tapered the other is non-tapered.

If you fit say a non-tapered bearing to a tapered shaft then will go through the wheel bearing very quickly.

Get the garage to double check they've fitted the right one - should be fairly obvious !

They might be over torqueing the hub nut ?

cheers mate will get it checked. the only problem is i dont think the garage is now back open until tuesday.
would you reccommend driving it or would it make it worse. thanks again

I wouldn't drive it far tbh.

This is why it's wearing. It is just running on one edge compared to the flat bearing.

Hopefully this goes to roughly trying to explain the problem I think you're having:

(Black is the driveshaft)
(Red and Blue is the wheel bearings)

So you can see the pressure that is put on the wheel bearing when you torque the hub nut up.

I might be wrong, but the wheel bearing profile and driveshaft profile would be the first thing I'd check, along with the hub nut torque
