When i was waiting at the traffic lights earlier...i noticed that rev counter picked up to around 30,000???? Is this a big problem? costly?

Any ideas?

Ok cheers, i've heard someone say clean the throttle body to prevent it revving by itself.....do you know where about the throttle body is located?

its where the air filter meets the engine , if u take the air filter off theres a 60mm ish hole , give all that a clean ( i got wynns fuel injection intake and carb cleaner from halfords and it did the job) , mine idle'd perfect after :) .

sounds alot like your idle control valve mine did exactly the same, its at the back of your throttle body, try cleaning it first sometimes helps, if not a new 1 is around £50- 60 :A:

mine did that today! it did it before about 3 weeks ago, i left it for a day then it went away.... then it just came back today again -_-... I'm going to the garage to get it sorted next week though, I think it's the idle control valve... as other people say
