right ppl before i get loads of read the stickies etc etc, i do know how to unlock an ecu.... however if any of you read my thread last night youll know i removed my dash and smashed the ignition pick up ring on the barrell, so the car wouldnt start, fook on soldering etc i got it running again, decided i best unlock my ecu as its gonna cause me probs, so unplugged imob(main loom not the little plugs for leds and switches etc) and afterwards it wouldnt start, plugged it back in it started, so why is it not unlocking?????
its a 2000 vtr with cobra imob
also when i got in the car to park it the pas was off, as with this morn wheni moved it untill id turned it round then i cam back on, now once started again its off, does this have anything to do with the ignition ring i snapped as ive heard theres is a lik between them???:y::y::y::y::y:

Sounds like you didn't unplug the black box?
You don't need to touch the wiring etc. just unplug the box with the engine running

right lads removed the dash as per strippage,
imob led on dash couldnt be uplugged so i ripped it off
then when pulling out the dash i caught the pick up coil for the chip in the key with the dash and snapped it,
then the car wouldnt start, so i soldered the wires bk together on the led
soldered the broken wire on the pick up ring and it started
then located the cobra imob black box, unplugged the big white plug with engine running, at this time i never removed the other wires in the imob box (the led loom, the bonnet and boot switch looms etc) when iturned off the car it woldt restart, plugged the loom back in and it started,
tried again toady and the same happend
also the power steering was off when i put the car away last night, same as when i got it back out today, but as i was turning round it came back on, stayed on till i switched off engine and whn restarted it it was off again????
sorry for the essay lol

So you've got a cobra immobiliser too?
With the engine running all you need to do is unplug the black immobiliser box, it sounds like the cobra one though is still present/working?

the only imob box i can find is the cobra one, looks like the dash has been out before so im guessing the oringinal has been removed and replaced with the cobra?????
dont think cit would have left so little play in the led wire on the dash, thats why i had to rip it off, also the hole looks rather rough cut behind the casing ??? any ideas

Post up a picture of the wiring in your car as I recall seeing the black immobiliser box - I'm on my phone so is a bitch to hope between threads and search for pics

Mate I just looked at your pictures, and it looks like your immobiliser box has been unplugged before - maybe when the cobra immobiliser was fitted.

this is what im thinking bud, will take some tomorow and post in here as i havent got any clear images tbh, wirings defo ben fucked with before as there was only 1 torx screw on the plate that conects the interior looms behind the glovebox, and the screw that holds the ignition barrel in was only hand tight
