i got a 106 gti and wanting to turbo it but only with about 5-6psi boost just as a little project

i would like to get the turbo on it and running this year, if i would be using 5-6psi would i definately need a decompression plate?

i am asking this because i have just had my engine rebuilt with new water pump, oil pump, multi layered steel headgasket, thermostat, cam belt, idle + tensioner and more

i will be using mf2/sigcon or dastek+4 bigger injectors for fueling

also will be using a wideband sensor for AFR gauge

Hard one to call, will depend on mapping and inlet temps but I'd say you don't need one.

If in doubt just double up on the headgaskets

yeah that the thing didnt really want to have to take the head back off and then buy new gaskets lol only had the rebuild done last week =/ lol

Very much depends on how well your control the fuelling and ignition. With the MF2 + SigCon2/3 or a Dastek you could run with just a single thick repair gasket just fine. Though with the price of stand alone these days that may be a even better option. If you do drop the compression right down you probably get away with even more basic mods but it would not make for as nice a car to drive in the end.

it really depends on how thick that gasket actually is
