ive been trying to get some info on putting a vtr engine in my 1.4 quiksilver and ive been told by the majority of people i need the vtr loom and ecu but i have been told by 3-4 people that u can run the vtr engine on the quiky loom and ecu.

in theory the quiksilver ecu wouldnt know it was a bigger engine so would open the injectors and let the same fuel in as it would for the 1.4. but with the bigger vtr injecotors (which the ecu still wont know about) would it let in enough fuel.

sorry if im not explaining myself very well. basicly i want to know if it will run on quiksilver ecu and loom.

also alot of people have said yes but its better to put vtr ecu on.
better in what way?

hopefully someone can shed some light so i can get the bits and start on the rebuild.

Well it depends on if you've bought the right year engine for your car.

What year is the engine 98bhp 3 Plug? 90bhp Single Plug?
What year is your car?

simple fit the ecu that matches the ecu in every case

its a single plug ecu, 75bhp silvertop quiksilver with a silping clutch so its dog slow.
ive just brought a 90bhp single plug ecu silver top to go in it.

i think ill try rinning it on the quiksilver ecu/loom with the vtr injectors and engine running the quiksilver flywheel, clutch, gearbox and shafts.
