can you get a harness for a 106 gti for a turbo timer? or do you need to cut into the wires?

Pretty sure you just splice it in to the loom. IMO there a waste of money nowadays with modern oils and the rest.

they were useless when they first came about too as you could use common sense to save you £200. It was always better to cruise in the car for a bit to allow the engine to cool than rag it to the door and leave it idling.

id rather spend the moeny on a decent alarm sytem with remote start/stop, then you have theability to do the same as a turbo timer while protecting you car, plus an alarm wont void your insurance!!

People get way to obsessive about letting turbo cars cool down.

its dead simple --you will boil the water in a saxo/106 turbo if you do not ahve a pump in the system --so fit a bosch pump insystem and then just idle car for a short while
fi you don,t have a water cooled turbo --thats your first mistake -so yes you should dirve it nicely before stopping it .
there is bugger all space in a saxo /106 and if you have turboed it then you will have a stand alone ,so you can hook your water pump inot the cooling fan circuit which should run cooling fan even when ign is off till head temp is down ,all thse complications with turbo,s ,all part of my dislike of big powered turbo power and road use .
you should allw even atsd car some time to equalise temps after thrashing it before turning it off .its just its more pronounced with turbo .
there are lots of cars that have elec water pumps as std for cool down and --not even turbo ones

porsche 911 non turbo has 11litre oil capacity --why cos its air cooled ,so oil is doing all the work ,
modern cars have very small oil +water volumes compared to older cars ,which made have the hp and had twice the oil capacity ,they do it so they warm up quick and get the engine running lean very quickly for emissions +economy .
so you take a std engine with only 3litre ,then double or treble the bhp and expect it cope with all the extra heat you are making ,
be good to it ,
fit a thermo oil cooler kit and give it a chance to destress before stopping it
