I've just put a VTR engine in my 106 XS. The VTR engine was running perfectly in the Saxo, but now it's in the 106 it won't idle. Revs at 5000rpm when it is started. Can any one tell me why this is and how to fix it? Thanks.

Have you connected all the air pipes ? Cracked inlet manifold ?

i used the manifold of the 106 , didnt take much notice of it to see if there was any leaks . would an air leak cause over revving when idling?

Yes, leaking air is like you opening the throttle except the leaking air is un metered by the engine management system. Check brake servo vacuum hose is connected up and the brake sevo is not punctured mate (stick thumb over vacuum pipe to seal it) and also above as suggested.

Might be worth fitting the VTR manifold perhaps?
