Engine/Immboliser problems

Morning guys. i have a p reg citroen saxo 1.1sx with a keypad immboliser

the engine was on its way out so i decided to grab a nice cheap engine (1.1) (R reg) for 50 quid with ecu.

i got a family friend (mechanic) to fit the new engine as i wouldnt have the time due to working all week.
I went round to listen to the first start up yesterday night and it just didnt fire. no fuel pump prime or spark plug. looked at the shitty keypad ecu and both green and red light lit up like traffic lights. :( i had an unlocked ecu so tryed at and still nothing. tbh i am completely lost.

is this a *your fooked situation* or is there any light at the end of the tunnel?
any help would be much appreciated (sp?)

why not use the original ecu that matched the code on the keypad? That should be fine. I would possibly guess at the wiring not being connected properly, and thats why the immobiliser is reading a fault.

Is the ecu light on the dash?

as ryan said use the original ecu, if you used an unlocked ecu and the keypad was still in place you may well have locked the ecu again
