well racelands header plate is too tight to the bends on the manifold causing no end of issues when trying to get the studs/nuts on.
I normally get 25-30mm m8(iirc) bolts and screw it straight into the head to save me the hassle

It's fine, just make sure you put all the bottom bolts on first and do them up bit by bit in an equal manner - then just put all the top ones on

thread is m8x1.25

wicked theres a start. did you notice much difference after fitted, the manifold i fitted to vtr was second hand and i still had to oped 3 holes out on it, do you use a spanner to do the bolts up on the raceland and socket on the top ones

spanners and sockets. whatever is easiest at the time

pita to fit. Once on though, happy with the result.

I use a spanner on the bottom ones (combination of a normal and stubby one) and then a socket for the top ones

I didn't see much if any difference after fitting one. Seemed to loose that 'kick' at 4k RPM too.

Mine fitted without modifying any studs. Slide it onto the edge of the studs and start doing up the nuts bit by bit (especially the second from the left and right on the bottom row), sliding it closer towards the head. Then it's a case of nipping the nuts up when it's against the head. As raunchz said, ring spanner on the bottom row, socket on the top - make sure you don't catch the alternator with anything. ;)

likewise, I didn't notice any difference fitting a 4-2-1 Raceland

I have found it easier to just swing the alternator towards the radiator with the belt off to give me room on the bottom nuts.

I'd wear gloves if fitting one that's been hearwrapped

i supose it just helps the other mods, i got a full stainless system and enclosed induction, decat, i shall hopefully bolt that on tomoz and want to order some ph3s in the next 2 weeks

On the plus side, you'll save a fair bit of weight. I nearly broke a rib dropping the standard cast iron manifold onto my chest.

thats the other thing i noticed with my vtr how much weight difference there is:y:
