Piper 3 inch back box onto a brand new standard silenced centre section.

I have had my 2002 VTR a couple of months now. Just had it lowered 50mm now looking for a new exhaust.

When I bought the car it had a brand new standard exhaust fitted. With this in mind I think I would prefere to save money and buy just a back box.

I have the piper 3 inch inwardly rolled back box in mind, about £135

Do you think it would have a good sound to it? I am definately not looking for anything loud, just something with a bit of a buzz. Or do you think I would be better off paying the extra £125 for a full system?

You can do it in sections mate. Get the backbox first, if you don't think that has enough grunt get the unsilenced centre section.

Plenty of time mate, I have to put my engine head back on, get the fuel lines, brake vacuum servo pipe, throttle position sensor and remap done before FCS and I think I will be able to do that :)

Nah sorry it's the full Piper with piper stainless centre section with silencer, Would only sell it as one including a decat pipe too...

Have a gander underneath your car first dude, it might be a straight through welded system, if so the backbox won't fit, from past experiences of witnessing the sound of a Piper, i would personally go for a.. Supersprint straight through centre pipe to a 3" outward roll piper backbox, sounds awesome to be fair and with de-cat you'll love it even more :).

i love piper as i've got one :p i think it sounds sweet specially when you decat and straight through supersprint. also the 3.5" seems 2 fit in the recess pretty good, i've seen a 3" and imo i think it dont suit, but most people like the 2"
