how on earth do you screw the insert from the oil filter side into the engine block?!? :panic:

Could you put two nuts on the insert and tighten it into the block that way?

yeah and it had a nut between the thread and the unit housing, can thi sbe removed?

Apparently so mate - the insert is a nut with thread either... if that makes sense. Remove the insert from the oil filter assembley and all should be clear.
