u may remember my previous post about my dodgy idle and being told to
replace my idle speed stepper motor..
well today i decided to fill up with optimax because i'd never seen it before
and thought why not...
well. my idle is much smoother and quiter hasnt done the near stalling thing
once and pulls nicer accross the revs!
u can still feel it a tiny bit but its nowhere near as bad at idle now,, well
chuffed!
anyone else had good experiences with optimax??

i'v used shell optimax and found it to be better then regular 95 in my vtr. iv been experimenting and have tried bp ultimate, shell optimax, tesco 99, and esso supreme 97 the last few times i have tanked up. i'v stuck with esso supreme for now. seems 2 do the trick nicely

not sure but on other cars to get better performance if you reset the ecu it get the full out out of the petrol as your car was use to running the common stuff.

i just run normal petrol mate as i have found that using shell or super unleaded seemed to give my car a big misfire for some reason,i tried it out for about 1 week and it was coughing all the time

Haynes manual refers to both 95RON & 98RON. i've been running Optimax for a couple of months now, not sure if theres any difference. going to go back to normal unleaded soon & see
