im changing the centre section on my vts next week,

i used gun gum putty on my mates at the weekend and it was shit to work with,

whats the best stuff for sealing exhaust?

also will i need a gasket of any sort after the cat or is it just at the front

Exhaust putty, i used when sealing around the joints.

Aslong as you clean up the joints with a wire brush and have them mated up correctly gun gum putty is fine to use, i would recommend buying a new bracket for the cat to center join though and get somebody to push the backbox and center section up tight towards the cat for you while you tighten it all up.:y:

Exhaust putty is really good, the stuff you get from Andrew Page is the best. Once I ran out and used some old clay and it worked really well! Seals better than exhaust paste.
