over fueling or oil change

i haven't long bought my vts but have ending up spending alot of money on it to get it right. now im not sure if it is over fueling or the oil just needs changing. But all i know is the oil smell's of petrol, its that bad u would swear its petrol but it's not. any idea's if it just need an oil change or is it over fueling and need a lamba censer

Also what oil do i need to get for a 1998 R-reg vts?

you can get a petrol smell from breather pipes
10w40 oil

Change the oil asap. Does it smell of petrol from the exhaust? This is the sort of thing rolling roads are good for because you'll able to see exactly what the fuelling is doing. It's probably nothing major though.
