W Reg VTS Fan on a V Reg

My fan and fan wiring was knackered on my V reg VTS so I got brought a VTS fan and wiring from a W reg. My mate tried fitting it today and said the wires just aint right. Not sure I believe he is correct.

So I'm asking is the fan and wiring from a W reg VTS the same as V reg VTS.
I cant see it being different.

Any help is appreciated

2000 w reg was the crossover year bud, is yours a mark 2 or mark 1 vts? different looms if yours is a mk1

My car is a MK2 V reg, so it still has the MK1 engine but the MK2 shape
