Would say a VTR with ~120 bhp and a VTS geabox have similar performance to a VTS im assuming not so as 8v pull nearwhere as well as 16v.
My VTR isn't 120bhp to start off with only got basic breathing mods but is it a worthwile change from VTR to the VTS gearbox just wondering from people who have this themselves, how much of an improvement does it make to acceleration.
Not that I will reach it often but what roughly can a VTR do with a VTS gearbox topspeed.
Future plans include a 4-1 manifold and Ph3 Newman cams.

Thanks in advance

(have used search but cant find much information)

vts box will accelerate alot better, but in answer to your question no, power delivery is much diff etc etc. but vts box on a vtr is a worthy mod tbh

Those mods will be wasted if you keep the VTR box - will be pushed to 'feel' the difference. VTS gearbox should be ideal.

Thought as much, I'm aware the VTR has a fair ammount of low down power whereas further through the rev range it lacks a bit and the power delivery is very diferent from 16v hence why a 4-1 is my choice not a 4-2-1.

Who is my best bet for fitting? I always hear good things about wilsey think thats spelt right... but will be looking for someone trusted nearer York

Tbh VTR gearbox is awful it may as well be a four speed

I've being thinking about it for a while but how much roughly would a gearbox change be including purchase, I cant seem to find much information on this at all even though I thought it would be a more popular and spoken about modification

mani is a cheap job, where bouts you from, drive to me ill do you g/box for 80 (gateshead) theres very little difference between a 4-1 and a 4-2-1 tbh, only really noticeable on high power cars, but 4-1 are alleged to give better top end, over acceleration like the 4-2-1
