Currently running a raceland 4-2-1 Mani with a supersprint centre and a sportex exhaust which was bought for me as a present but didn't actually want it (I know sounds selfish).

I've read up about different back boxes and I'm stuck between either the magnex, supersprint or kam racing one, which is were your knowledge comes in.

Which one overall would be recommended as the best for sound, performance and overall looks?

The supersprint one is the Kam Racing one ;)

Ive had the supersprint system and it sounds awesome and looks stealth aswell :y:

Magnex imo for looks, quality, performance and a nice quiet non chavy sound

Magnex are meant to be really good.
That's why I bought one 2 days ago

Forgot about the Magnex, agreed on the Magnex for looks.

Supersprint for performance and loud noise lol

Imo they are only ugly if they have been fitted incorrectly.

I dont really know much about the magnex so cannot comment on their looks though they have always seemed good quality.

The supersprint race backbox (http://www.kamracing.co.uk/index.php/citroen/citroen-saxo/saxo-exhaust/exhaust-backbox/citroen-saxo-supersprint-race-backbox.html) is likely going to be the loudest due to its small diameter. Its also the smallest tailpipe with a 2" straight cut end.
Our own brand KAM Racing backbox (http://www.kamracing.co.uk/index.php/citroen/citroen-saxo/saxo-exhaust/exhaust-backbox/kam-racing-stainless-steel-race-backbox-citroen-saxo.html) is fully stainless steel, is quieter and has two versions of the tailpipe, a 2 1/4 inch outwardly rolled and a 2 1/4 straight cut version. Its a subtle design and does not look out of place on the saxo.

Ide have to go for the kamracing.

I found it actually sounded alot better than the supersprint.

And its lighter and looks the tits :)

Hate back box's with oval silencers...

Id say Supersprint race system or the Saxsport........Magnex i have got but dont like the look of the back box

By the way how come everyone rates magnex? are they the best exhaust for performance gains or something?

My main problem at the moment is the noise levels of the sportex. To much noise. Need something more subtle, sounds silly with all that noise on 2000rpm and poodling along at 30mph.:n:

By the sounds of things I'll most probably give the magnex a go.

Thanks.

A friend has a similar setup to you, although its 16vJp4 and yeah the sportex is raspy as f00k. I have a catback supersprint/Magnex combo and love it for what it's worth! Very subtle.... and growls low down the revs. I've seen some fit much flusher to saxo's but mine hangs a bit - still, I don't have a show car!

As said, you have some good feedback here. I hear Piper and the SS Magnum are good, but then again the piper will be loud aswell.

Piper hasen't even been mentioned wtf! I reccomend piper nice easy fit, sounds amazing job done :y:

make sure if you go for a magnex that your able to fit it to your centre section.

well with the saxsport he would have to buy a complete system as the backbox is not compatable with his current centrepipe.

The saxsport I've got fitted looks nice, fits extremely neatly on the car, and sounds awesome.

The magnex box im looking at getting has been welded at some time to a supersprint centre section already. Wether they have done it properly or not, i.e used the stainless steel weld is a different story but i can do that at work.

If all else fails, think my second choice would be the KAM racing backbox with the outward rolled tip. Have heard good things about this back box and it doesnt seem to sound as raspy or noisy as the s/s.

i have a custom Stainless steel exhaust on my mark 2, (standard manifold at the min)
But it sounds exactly the same as the vid on youtube (kam racing Citroen saxo VTR)
Just the sort of sound that not too loud or too quiet.

The gear change at the end of the vid sounded awesome.

Imo i think Ashley comp exhausts are very good and sound generally pleasing
