not to sound like a nob as you may well be a very good mechanic etc but i wouldnt trust ppl without decent rep, and your a new member, for all most know you could be a noob with a haynes
advice to all is ask what parts your getting with your mega cheap bargain work, if its not oe or uprated its not worth wasting your money on

you'll need head gasket, head bolts, timing belt kit, oil, oil filter, anti freeze and head skimmed. May aswel do water pump while your there aswell.

Josh still recon we should do this ourselfs.
Let me know if you want to, we would do water pump while there but unless theres somewhere close we can get a decent skim it shouldn't need it on yours. I dont even think your hg is gone still :P

get your head skimmed while its off or your just looking to cause yourself more hassel. For the 25 quid it costs.
lil_rascal
30th August 2010, 23:45
Why would it cause ne more hassle??
williamsvts
30th August 2010, 23:54
if the head has warped slightly or is marked and you dont skim it then the gasket wont seal. So youl have to do it al again.

31st August 2010, 00:01
Ohh right :( ok I'll see about getting it skimmed :) thanks

It is good practice to get it done mate else you wil end up doing the hg again but you failed to show me any reasons why you think the hg is gone :P
I think it was your stem oil seals if you had blue smoke ;)
