Do you mean using an uprated panel filter in the standard airbox? The type of cold air feed you use though won't make much difference if any at all in regards to it popping. Just use a good quality smooth feed this will see optimum power gains.

wont make a differnce to the exhuast noise, all it will do would increase throttle response and torque, you wouldnt notice much gain to be honest. wont to make your exhaust pop, loosen the brackets connected the pipes, adds oxygen to the fumes. :y:

oh right lol but standard feed and box would be better than my open one atm surly and some one told me that putting a washer or a metal rod in the system somewere would make it pop cause all you want to do is disrupt the gases and he was doing motorsport so was like hmmm i wonder as mines clamped so wouldnt be that hard to take off and try lool :A:

depends where you have the filter located, if its straight on the tb then yoour gonna be sucking in all the heat from the engine rather than the front, but open cones are generally better if location near the grill. i have a piper cold air feed from behind grill to open cone.

yeah it is mate right up by the tb lol i got a feed running to it at 102mm but it aint enclosed so is bit pointless was just thinking of a way to improve it

de-cats the kinda easier way to start trying to get it to ''POP'', but going to have to get large bore exhaust, throttle bodies, etc..

large bore exhuast are more known for deep rumbles, 2", 2.5", 3" and 3.5" are best for raspy, best ones are supersprint, magnex, pugsport, saxport, janspeed, piper
