Just got some 206 GTI 180 discsc and cali

just got myself a new set of 206 GTI 180 discs and calipers.

i know the 206 GTI discs and calipers go on no probs, but any idea if the 180 set will fit straight on, i know they are bigger. they will probs not fit bhind my track vtr wheels either?

im not sure if they are the same as the 306 GTI-6 set up?

pretty much the same as 306 set up, wont fit behind vtr wheels.
I think the 180 brakes go straight on, if not its a little grinding of the strut and thats it

they are about the same size as the gti-6 brakes arent they?abit of grinding and some spacers and they'll go on no probs

i was looking at the normal 206 gti setup which i know fits behind the vtr wheels. then saw a setup for the 180 gti and had to have them lol
i got them for 170squid, discs calipers and pads.

they are 283mm so they will defo not fit behind my vtr wheels, which i have just sprayed and look goregous. im in a dilema now, do it fit the brakes straight away and use them for the FCS trackday with my 16s on. or just wait till after the FCS to fit them?

i intended on driving down and doing the trackday with the vtr wheels on, then using the 16s for the show and driving back, i didnt want to wreck the tyres on the 16s smileys/smiley5.gif

but the car will brake mint with the new discs on, a defo bonus on the track smileys/smiley3.gif

yeah boz when i put the gti-6 brakes on i had to get some spacers machined up to bring the calipers out

just fit the brakes and find someone with some vts rims and swap them for your sprayed vtr rims smileys/smiley2.gif

how big are the spacers mate, these just go between the caliper and bracket?

what do they look like?

cant even get a pic for you because the cars away at the mo getting more work done to it

they were just to get the caliper to come out far enough from the bracket to sit over the dics properly

so they will have 4 holes in, 2 for the strut and 2 for the caliper, to bing the caliper towards the front of the car to compensate for the bigger disc size?

bear westie: just if i put the 16s on for the track and drive the car hard, which wears the tyres, i will have to drive home with them and if worn and i get stopped of the police, thats points and a fine smileys/smiley5.gif

i will have to see what im like for time when i get back.
i only have a few days off between now and FCS i will have to fit the discs,calipers (sort out spacers),fit braided hoses change the fluid and fit some other toys.
i may end up having to leave the brakes till a later date. then i can go mad on the track with the vtr alloys on LMBO! © sax-p

you know of anyone with 15s that will want too swap for sprayed vtr alloys? lol
