Is it true that you can make your car sound better by simply removing the stock plastic air feed to the stock air filter? So that it sucks straight into the filter as apposed to going through all the plastic.

????????

I'm not talking about removing the actual air filter. I mean just taking off the bit which feeds to the air filter from outside.

The plastic twisty tubing is there to act as a resonator (i,e take noise away) ...
So in asnwer to your question yes, by removing this you should improve the noise (if you like a bit of induction noise) ... but as said above please PLEASE leave the actual airbox and filter on lol....
And if you do this make sure you have a seperate cold air feed coming from the grill so your're not just sucking in nice hot air from the engine bay...
