mk2 vtr motor on mk1 loom

would a mk2 vtr engine run on a mk1 loom and ecu ? thanks for the help lee

the engine its self would yeh, but if u put the diff phase engines and looms in diff phase cars " if u get me " .. phase 1 car phase 2 engine n loom... vice versa ull have problems with the master plug wiring ... also u need to make sure its an early modle phase 2 as they run on diff types of ecu.... but the engine its self should be fine.. sorry for being confusing not sure how u explaine it

car is single plug now but looking at getting mk2 motor thats on 3 plug but use the single plug loom and ecu

thats fine then the only diff in the engines is the phase 2 has 2 o2 sensors for emissions and runs better " so i am told "...

yea will just put a 4 branch on then only having to use the 1 sensor
