think it might be immobilised as fuel pump isnt priming
does anyone have a picture of the immobiliser box, where it is and what it looks like as we cant see it anywhere?
any other reasons you could think of why she wont start?

This.
The immobiliser box is under the passenger side of the dash (if you mean transponder)
If you have a spare saxo, start it up, remove said box whilst running then try yours with that transponder. If that doesn't work it's something else (probably electrical rather than mechanical)

weve got two spare saxos but both arnt running, found the boxes on the others but cant find it on this one lol
will speak to ben about the fuel thing
and i think theres a few sensors still unplugged but theyre just headlight and fan so not gunna stop it from running, probably is electrical :/

That might be the issue. Have you tried fitting a transopnder to see if that makes a difference?

havent tried the transponder craig, ill get ben to have a look.
gunna check it all over again tonight
just to confirm, is the fuel cut off switch meant to be up or pressed in?
she doesnt do anything if you go to turn the key normally, but if you hold it down it turns over but wont fire :/
and the oil lights on?

The fuel pump switch should be pushed down.

Fixed then? :)
I'm 75% sure that the fuel pump would still prime if it was the immobilisor.

battery has full charge
everything looks to be plugged in

Try a new fuel pump or relay?
Colin

That relay under the ECU can be very hit and miss, try unplugging it and cleaning it or simply wacking it against some bodywork.
This relay stops the pump priming. Always had this problem, car would cut out when driving.

will look at all the things you guys have mentioned, thanks :D youre all so helpful lol
could it possibly the ecu locked itself??
Paul
20th August 2010, 12:50
Not really, as if its the ecu that came with the car it would match the immobilsor, ignition etc.
Might sound stupid, but someone made a thread on here yesterday saying their car wouldn't start and it turned out to have no petrol in. Funny thing was he blamed the car for it and said he's getting rid of it because he sick of all the problems. Head>Desk lol.

ahaa lol oh no im not that silly :p it definately has petrol
the engines come out my old westcoast, and gone into my vtr, using the vtr loom etc, so i thought the ecu could have locked in that process?
Paul

So you're putting the westcoast engine in the vtr? I'm guessing you're using the westcoast ECU? The vtr loom should be fine if its the same year.
When you removed the westcoast ECU did you unplug the immobilisor box with the engine running?

if youve done this the vtr imob box would have locked the westie ecu if it wasnt unplugged prior to starting the engine up after conversion, it starts and runs the first time after conversion but locks the ecu and wont start the second time
this sound like it may be your prob?
