Help please!! K&N Panel filter wont fit!

I just baught this K&N panel filter from kamracing, and it arrived this mornin, but when i came to fit it, it just seems too big and wont fit :( i have a mk2 2002 vtr, could anyone help?

It does fit, you have to squash it down a bit, very tight squeeze!

edit: just seen the link, not sure about that one, furio's must have different filters, mine was a cone/oval shaped one, but it was a tight fit

i squished it in but it left gaps etc anyone help???

send it back, looks like they've sent you the wrong filter

but i thought the vtr one is the only one in that shape?

i put one in my furio the other day... was a tighter squeeze but just stuck it in and screwed the airbox back together, been fine since :)

arnt furios kinda like a cone though, just worried about stuff getting through the gaps?

Is it the same length both ways? could be in the wrong way.

nah, its a rectangle shape, just too wide, and obviously when you force it in , it mis-shapes and makes gaps :S

not sure but i think the air box on the 1999 to 2001 is different not sure though.
