Fitted a straight through system yesterday, decat pipe, straight through mid section and a sebring back box. All seems well apart from the joints are all blowing, I have tightened up all the clamps and put high temp sealant but it is still happening.... Has anyone had this problem? I think the best way to solve it is to get a garage to fully weld the cat pipe to the centre section and centre to the back box.... Has anyone done this? Thanks

What type of exhaust parts i.e decat, center pipe and backbox?

Imo some aftermarket products only allow you to use their own brand or same diamiter for correct fitment

i have the same setup and have no probs, fitted my self to. do you have the big ring washer inbetween the decat and mid pipe. i came with my remus mid section and makes sure that it butts up sweet to the decat. if you thinks its blowing cos it poping and spitting then dont worry it will do that because it tou taken the sound baffles out i.e cat and mid box

Ye I've got the big ring washer in between the joints, but it still blows from the clamp joints.... The clamp doesn't seem to tighten the pipes together tight enough to close the seal...

Think i might pop down to a local exhaust garage and see what they recommend...

Coke ring up front, even without paste, with that in place and tightened up it shouldnt blow! As for center to back box! Paste around the lip of the joins and put paste in the clamp too!

Should sit tight, and clamp both pieces snug!...

If its blowing i cant see ypu having the right clamp or ring tbb!

Ok, I've been trying to find the ring to buy, can find the clamp but not the ring, do you know where they sell these?

Im guessing you assembled it all with exhust paste?

Yes used paste to try and stop the blowing but with no success... Does anyone know good honest exhaust garages in the Manchester/ Rochdale/ bury area?

PROBLEM SOLVED!

Took it to a local garage who put it up on the ramps, Took the clamp off between the decat and the mid section, the spacer that goes between can only be fitted one way apparently... I fitted it the wrong way, new heavy duty clamp fitted, pasted up and jobs a goodun, 10 quid.

problem has come back, paste is crap and has become brittle and is blowing around the joint again.... other than getting someone to cut the flanged pipe out and welding a new small section of pipe to join the decat to the mid section, I was thinking of using some exhaust wrap around the joint then paste it and clamp it up?? Do you reckon Ive got a chance or is it a waste of time trying?
Cheers

waste of time mate.

I bodged my exhaust numerous times with that wrap stuff, soon as you get a 'POP' when u change gear, there's a massive hole in it.
