Just been talking to a mate of myne about enclosed induction kits for saxos.
he reckons Raceland ones are good, and highly rated.

Just wondered, how good are they, what do you lot think?

Also any pics of them would be helpfull :D

Good simple kit with the green filter. Easy to fit. Attach, dril, drill, cable tie, cable tie, DONE. Easy to remove, easy to replace. Unless you're a whore it's rather convenient

this is a mega repost...
the filter is so small so only lets a small amount of air through. the enclosure looks big but if u look where it actually gets the air feed from in the slam panel its tiny so is hardly letting any air in. crap quality as well imo

Silly question, but would a pipercross filter fit in the housing.

As most people ive spoke to dont rate green cotton air filters

Green are rated amongst the best around. And a few holes drilled in the slam panel, hey presto

c'mon guys, simple fixes. Something in the way that has no structural intergrity, get it the fuck out of the way!

Exactly!

The green filters are very good from my experience. The standard filter in it seems very small and a bit rubbish. Mine is still in the packaging.

The casing for the raceland is a bit of a pain but as Adam said its simple to cable tie it up.

If you want a top quality filter and have lots of cash then go for a pro comp.

If your talking about the shitty red raceland filter then correct. If you got the green which has a larger surface area then incorrect. They work well with the Green filter, and as Adam said they are considered as one of the best.

Quality of the kit is shit as its only plastic. Which is the only downfall for it.

Your saying the small hole in the slam panal restricts the air flow to the enclosure, but then look at the hole on the inlet to the BMC (if your a BMC lover)

Few holes drilled in the top of the enclosure makes a difference :y:

Theyre hardly a pain to fit, lil bit of cutting and a few mounts n its done. Not hard at all unless you're one for just buying and putting straight on and then making a thread on saxp as to what to do with the PAS header bottle, which is simple, you undo a bolt and move it...cant get any harder lol

They can brak as theyre plastic though. Which as ive said is the only downside for them.

For the price its a good kit before you start getting more serious about it with the velocity, inlet length etc

And by which time you will probably be running ITB's and be bothering about tract lengths of the trumpets and won't need a enclosure unless you are running a plenum

ALso if you use forget to cable tie one side it can drop on to your manifold and melt lol.

My fail the first trip with it on.

You got it, although the s1600 saxo's still only use a single throttle body, slightly different setup though..

This happened on my Pro Comp before i made some brackets for it, and it fell on the rad fan n burnt out :(
