had my mot today and it failed on emissions was told it could be sensors here is the print off report
fast idle test FAIL
1950-3050rpm
co: <0.30% vol
0.97% vol
2nd fast idle fail
co: <0.30% vol
0.77% vol
natural idle test fail
650-1050 rpm
co: 0.50% vol
0.60% vol

yeh mine failed on the same, so all i did is before i got it retested was to rag the fuck out off it in every gear to get the cat red hot and then it flew thro the mot

you dont have to rag the fuck out of each gear, just give it a few blips in 2nd and 3rd a few times, that'll get the CAT nice and hot
Make sure your car is warm before you do anything though ;)

Dont rag it just go on a long drive, make the temp go up and down a few times. I'd heard a bottle of redex in the tank can help also.

Cat needs to be over 300oc to be fully working, as for sensors...ask them to let it tick over rather than fast idle...its common on saxos to fail on fast 2nd ive noticed! I just let them tick over tbh and threw they go... But this is against practice!...ask the tester nicely!

he was a nice tester and its all sorted now a full 12 months mot

hi where in stoke did u take it. mine failed on the same on last mot. It's due end of month don't want it fail. So will give it a good drive b4 i take it this time.

im having mine MOTd end of month!! i always get it serviced a couple of days before!! plus i agree a bottle of REDEX does the trick!!!!
