I have been looking on http://www.larkspeed.co.uk and have seen three decent backboxes that i want to choose between, all made my Savage...
1) http://www.larkspeed.com/index.pl?p=25B110&a=i
2) http://www.larkspeed.com/index.pl?p=25B118&a=i
3) http://www.larkspeed.com/index.pl?p=25B119&a=i

I basically want to know if anyone has had any experience with Savage before?? Are they any good? And am just wondering if those products are likely to be worth the money?

Please help...

You are going to get ripped for posting this tbh mate. They are chavy universal backboxes that sound like shit. Get yourself something that actually looks good on a saxo and sounds nice...aka.. Kamracing/piper/saxsport/supersprint/magnex backboxes.

Let me put this simply.. I have no idea what is good and what isn't :') I'm still at college and don't have a huge amount of money to spend on the car.. i want something that is big and loud, and they are the best i have found for that price.. Any other examples would be ideal :)

however, if i fancied being chavvy simply because i couldn't find anything else, do they actually sound any good?? Because i saw a bid on youtube of a saxo with one and it sounded awesome..

Also, i know it's not really meant for this forum but it's all to do with my car so there's no reason why not..

I have a 1.1 Saxo desire, 60bhp.. Not impressed! Is there anything i can do with the engine to make it more pokey and powerful?! I've heard induction kits and air filters won't do anything on a 60bhp car :S

If your budget is tight mate look out for 2nd hand parts, just please don't get a jap style universal crap can :y:.

As to making your saxo more nippy first things first give it a good old service: oil,oil filter, spark plugs, clean air filter, fuel filter, coolant etc. Will make a huge difference trust me.

Once thats done you could decat your car which will free up some revs and may gain you a few bhp. Or the cheapest method is to loose weight... e.g. get rid of the spare wheel/subs/rear seats maybe if you dont use them. All adds up :).

Never getting rid of the subs!! Wanting more to be honest, hope to finally end up with a good sound system and a great interior, to make up for the lack of exterior modelling, due to insurance cost..

I've heard a few good things about that 'Jap trash can' and it does seem to sound pretty nice :P But I'll take your word for it and keep my eye out for some things better!!

Will be taking it for a service some time next week anyway so that's always good, guess i'm just going to have to learn to deal with the fact that the car is never going to be as fast as i like, but it's my first so if i don't throw all my money at it and mod it to the top then i'll be better off anyway :y:

However, just a quick question, would a VTR or VTS body kit fit on my Saxo, seeing as they all seem to be built the same way?

Lets just say i sold loads at my old work and every single person came back and complained saying they sound absolutely shite and wanted their money back, just dont go there! just dont go there with any universal back box only get ones that are premade for your car

Just to back up the above, if you are on a low budget then go for Sportex :)

Can get a backbox for about £85 ish and a centre section or "Race Tube" as sportex call it for £49 :)

I love LOUD.. That isn't the problem, the problem i have is whether it's a throaty noise, or a rasping, tinny noise :/

If you could push a link my way to the one you use to have, the one you suggested, then I will definatly appreciate that very much :)

I dont understand why you want it so loud?? its a 1.0 Saxo everybody will laugh at you and you will give Saxo owners a bad name. Flat arches look rediculos with a stupid jap can hanging off the bumper lol

1) Noone knows how big it is.
2) Where I am from noone knows shit about cars anyway, it's all about who has the loudest, fatest back box.
3) I am getting a new kit put on it so it won't look stupid..

Bearing in mind that this is my first car, still haven't payed it all off etc, have no idea what I am doing and am trying to get into it slowly.. However I want something really loud, but a decent sound, not a rasping one, and I have about £100/£120 to spend on a full exhaust system, not sure how much of it I'll need, whether just a backbox and header or what, but that's how much I have... Any suggestions and links would be nice, because i'm looking everywhere and cannot find shit all :(
