You could prob get a decent amount out of one but this is why people say get a vts.
I dont know exact figures but for example if you spend £1500 on mods for a VTR... and the same for the S Your clearly going to have way more power out the 16 v engine.
The amount of times ive heard people say i wish i never spend the dough on my VTR is mad. Not knockin anyone who has modded their R by the way. I have an Full system on mine i just not sure whether i want to spend any more because i know that with the money to get it to 120+BHP i could probably sell my R and get myself a tidy vtS and insure it...

this is a pointless thread you could spend anything on your car and get almost any bhp figure ud want!
we could tell you how to spend £10k on your engine and get 400bhp , but im guessing that would be a complete waste of time.
instead why dont you ask what you can get with your budget??
also bhp figures arent clear cut at all, i dont mod my engine to get a certain bhp figure i do it to make it more enjoyable no matter what the bloody bhp figure is

This is the correct mentality you modify your cars for pleasure I assume and a BHP alone does not make me have more of a smile on my face... I mean if you had the chance to drive your car as it is around say an empty nurburgring that would be a pretty awesome day no matter how fast you can go round the freaking thing.....

BHP dosent mean much, you could have a saxo with 450 bhp and on a quatermile, a 300 BHP saxo would beat it all day long except if it was on a huge long straight (i.e a mile)
Small car with lots of BHP just means wheelspinning till like what? 4th gear, whereas one with a little less would be able to get the traction down no problem, say.. wheelspinning till start of third

Kept with an Evo X the other day on a nice stretch of road with roundabouts he pulled away on the straights i caught him with late braking coming up to roundabouts all over him like a backpack on the roundabouts and so on and so forth...That thing has over 200 bhp more than my car yet it didn't get away. Power is nothing without control and power is nothing without control and a decent driver LOL

Yer, its all well and good having a gazillion BHP... but if you cant put it down then its no use.
your best off going for an all aspects option.
full system= backbox, centre, mani
Apex Lowering kit
full struts
nice set of Toyo Proxies!
and your set!

I'd go for Bilstein b8's, faulkner 155ib springs, top and bottom strut braces, powerflex rear beam mounts, carbon lorraine pads, braided lines, dot 5.1 and a decent set of tyres.
Don't get toyo's though they only have a load rating of 78 and that makes them flex a lot with a setup like this.
If you get these bits maybe with some lightweight wheels the handling is EPIC :) :)

I'd say once fully modded you could expect a VTR to make at least 98bhp.

full race 8v can get around 170 bhp
with boost over 200 --but the real question is how much do you want to put into this car

Get dot 5.1 brake fluid to dissolve the seals in your breaks......

nice setup. Though look at the temperature rating of the brake fluid rather than if its Dot 4 or 5.1 etc. I think people often forget the fun in these cars is mostly in the handling. Even my 106 van can bring entertainment...
With a raceland manifold and our exhaust a few customers have got 13-15bhp on the VTR's which is pretty good going. I think they dont have well designed manifolds as standard...
