hi
trying to sort my mums car out wonder whether anyone could help
its a 1999 1.4 saxo westcoast (yes it is hers!)
been having probs with it over revving at idle but doesnt do it always!

recently changed the Cat (mot), ICV and cleaned throttle body and Lambda sensor
its not made much difference.
was thinking of changing the throttle body as it is cheaper than buying various bits separately with one off ebay but not sure if they are correct?

could anyone help?
are any of these any good?

You could spend days changing parts and the ones you've mentioned are the main sensors i would change and clean.

Go to a grage and get it diagnosed for about £20.

Also look at map sensor and give it a clean and take the battery off over night to let the ECU reset, Check the wiring on the lambda plug as mine had split and needed re-connecting. Another one to check is the radiator temp sensor.

Look into the pipes on the air filter as the small ones become loose and the plastic can snap off this causes very irratic idle, just replace them or check them over and give them a good push, check air filter also.
