funny enough.. im cleaning mine today... i washed it in soapy water!..
my filter is the type found on ax gt pipercross`s..
its slightly worn and was coming apart before i washed it..and it came apart even more after i washed it..
hot melt glue should do the trick as it was only glued together anyway...
if yours it the metal type one.. you shouldnt have any problems!.

like citroenaxgtr said i also have a pipercross and i just took it all apart and washed the foam in a bowl. there is now way you could get it clean just using the filter cleaner. after washing mine in soapy water i have kept onto of it with the cleaner and re-oil. smileys/smiley4.gif

I had a PiperX on my ibiza I used to clean it with soapy water every 6 months. Just keep washing it until the water becomes clear. Let it dry before putting it back as you DONT want water getting in your engine!

Remember to re-oil the filter with the spray you get with the kit...if you haven't got any then halfords sell it.
