Silicon hoses??? What's the "performance" they give?

I'm looking at samco kits, and I really don't get why they say they provide a performance gain etc etc - what's the benifits?

And also, is the only samco kit available for the saxo the coolant one?

they dont just make your engine bay look nice.

they can take higher pressure so good for boost thay have smoother insides so flow liquids better also can handle higher temp's than standard rubber items and are also less likely to split.

As bedford said, they can handle more pressure, allow a smoother flow or air, or fluids.
Ideal for people running boost, or to those who have more than spec power and looking for a smoother responce. Ive seen pipes, bulge, split or pop from not much over spec on cars before!

Normally when you increase power considerably you may want to upgrade other parts in the engine bay to handle the excess power. But really i cant see the standard pipes failing at 200>bhp

there can be no more stress on water hoses than a std engine--presumng it is runing at correct temp and if it sin,t get it sorted

Temps and pressures is all silicone is better for, but for engine uses, theyll never be great enough for you to need to uprate

Better Performance is just a subjective advertising term. You have to understand what they are measuring and comparing against for it to have any meaning or relevance.
