Hello
Am going to look at a 2nd hand stage 1 cituning turbo kit this week and I have a few questions:
1. The stage 1 doesnt come with an intercooler, could I add one later?
2. Could I use the already mapped ECU off the car im buying it from?
3. What sort of gain would i be looking at over standard (I have no other mods to the engine)?
Apologies if these are stupid questions!
Cheers

Hi mate, yeah you could and a intercooler easily enough.
Id be very surprised if it was running on a mapped standard ecu, if it is it will never work well.
Im not too clued up on the cituning kits, but id expect around 170bhp on a standard engine, as you wont be able to put much boost through a standard engine without blowing it up.

yes you can add one, but id add one straight away,
if its the same plug ecu. yes but if its just a mapped ecu wont run as it should,
before turbo id do other mods
and be lucky to hit around 160 on standard with the ecu
how much you paying?

Which ecu to go for depends on your budget and what you want it to do. Personally id get a predator for a good price and convenience of fitting.
However if you want something you can take with you to your next car, or something to run water injection ect you'll have to look elsewhere.
What is your mate actually selling you?

It includes a garrett t2 turbo, manifold, sports cat, oil cooler and pipework. It's everything included in the stage 1 cituning kit. Think it only runs about 5-6psi

whats the manifold like? adapted onto a normal one or a proper custom one?
bargin at that tbh
but for a turbo dont you need to run a 5th injector etc?

Fuelling? Compression? Cooling? ECU? There's a bit more to turbo'ing than just bolting on a turbo dude. Do some research first. It's a lot of fun, but prepare your bank manager...
